34th Street Improvements Continue East

Over the past two weeks, crews advanced installation of the new 8-inch water main east from East Avenue, working through the Gunderson Avenue intersection and continuing toward Ridgeland Avenue. This is a huge milestone as crews reach the eastern limits of the project area!

Along the way, crews installed new valve vaults, water valves, and fire hydrants and completed connections to the existing water mains at East and Gunderson Avenues. 

Last week alone, crews advanced the new water main approximately 850 feet, bringing installation closer to Ridgeland Avenue. 

Crews are digging deep to improve water service along 34th Street!

Private service replacement work is also underway, with crews progressing east from Harlem Avenue toward Home Avenue. As construction progresses, residents and motorists should continue to expect temporary parking restrictions and lane shifts throughout the corridor.
